Our Commitment
OsteoTutor is committed to making our educational platform accessible to all users, regardless of ability or assistive technology needs. We strive to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA to ensure a positive experience for all learners.
Conformance Status
OsteoTutor aims to be fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Fully conformant" means that the platform meets all Level A and Level AA success criteria.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed using keyboard alone (Tab, Enter, Space).
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Content is structured with semantic HTML and ARIA labels for assistive technologies.
- Sufficient Colour Contrast: Text and background combinations meet WCAG contrast requirements.
- Resizable Text: Text can be zoomed up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Alternative Text: Images include descriptive alt text.
- Clear Headings and Labels: Page structure uses logical heading hierarchy and descriptive form labels.
Known Accessibility Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may present challenges:
- User-Generated Content: Clinical case notes entered by students may not always conform to accessibility standards. We encourage users to use clear, descriptive language.
- AI-Generated Content: Some AI-generated case descriptions may contain complex medical terminology. Definitions and explanations are provided where possible.
If you encounter any accessibility barrier, please contact us. We will work to address the issue promptly.
